We are delighted to initiate a new partnership between the Institute for Risk & Disaster Reduction at UCL UK, Design and Art Faculty of Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), the Research Centre for Disaster Mitigation (also from ITB), and PREDIKT. This partnership is for research initiative in developing an inclusive education/ game material for children and their parents. It is expected that the expected product can be utilised by children with disabilities.
This partnership will also be supported by the Ministry of Education from the division of Special Education and Special Services that oversee the education component for children with disabilities, the National Disaster Management Authority and the Indonesian Red Cross.
The Newton Institutional Links aims to build UK-partner country research and innovation collaborations centred on shared research and innovation challenges which have direct relevance to social welfare and economic development. This programme is designed to establish links beyond the level of the individual researcher and innovation practitioner, opening up opportunities for more sustainable, solution-oriented collaborations between academic groups as well as with the private and third sector (e.g. SMEs, NGOs, technology transfer offices and other not-for-profit organisations).
